Alright, I have to be honest when I started this blog I kind of wanted it to be more of a forum. A place where we can all share and support one another but for months and months now I've been going on and on! Getting comments here and there is okay but I want to hear more from you! It's YOUR TURN! So here is your chance to share with me! I need some inspiration from YOU! Post a comment and tell me how your weight loss is going? What are your reasons for living a fit and healthy lifestyle? Why do you read this blog and how can I make it better!?
I SURE HOPE TO HEAR FROM YOU! :)
How fun! I can't wait to hear what people say! In case this is helpful to anyone, here is what helps me with my health goals (which I don't always do, but I try!):
ReplyDelete1. Don't eat after 8pm. Usually when I eat after 8 it's all mindless eating anyway, so this really helps me not consume pointless calories.
2. Buy less junk food. Like you've said before, if it's not in your house it's going to be harder for you to eat it!
3. Stop baking and start cooking. If I make cookies I eat a lot of them so I just don't make them anymore (usually). Instead I try to find really yummy main courses to cook. I think the tastier your meals are the less you'll have to eat to feel satisfied. Plus, spending time cooking a meal makes me appreciate it more so I'm more likely to savor it and eat it slowly.
I read this blog because I love you! And because you have great ideas and are inspiring. Love you!
We're leaving for our cruise in 3 days and my goal was to lose 10 pounds. I have lost 9 and am pushing so hard the next couple of days to lose that last stubborn pound. I just joined Gold's Gym because my treadmill and work out videos were getting old. I really love having a gym memebership, it motivates me more for some reason. Some of my weight loss tricks are:
ReplyDelete1. Work out EVERY DAY, even if it's just a walk.
2. Enter all of the food I eat into my favorite calorie counter... myfitnesspal.com
3. Have a cheat day (either sat or sun) where I don't count calories and have some sort of treat.
4. Don't eat after 8 PM.
5. Cook every night (except weekends). It's way easier to control calorie intake when you make your own meals.
Thanks for all of your good advice Suzie! I'm so proud of YOU for your weight loss and healthier lifestyle, you're amazing and so beautilful. Keep up all the hard work and don't let the easter candy take you down (it has threathened me MANY times).
First of all, Suzi, this blog is AWESOME! I'm so glad that you created it!(: I read it because I love you & you share some wonderful & motivating things that have helped get me going better on my goal towards losing my pregnancy weight!
ReplyDeleteMy tips are pretty generic, but...
-Make a weekly workout chart with each day of the week (M,T,W, etc.) & record what you do each day. For example, M- 40 min. cardio, arms & back. I've done this for a long time & it really works for me because I feel like I have something to be accountable to for how much I've accomplished with exercise that week.
-Eat tons of vegetables!
-Cut out as much processed foods as you can
-Eat 5-6 small meals a day (& don't go over 3 hours without eating something during the day)
-Drink water after everything you eat... & stay hydrated always.
Sorry to bug you again, but I forgot one that works for me:
ReplyDeleteThrow out the scale.
I know a lot of people would disagree but I think it's better to go by how your clothes fit. Or at least don't weigh yourself that much. I used to weigh myself a lot and it was very deceptive... If I didn't eat much one week but what I did eat was junk, I felt like the scale would still give me a pat on the back because my numbers would go down. I think how your clothes fit is a better indicator on how you are doing.
Again, that's just me! Thanks for your inspiring blog and for this post-- I love reading others' comments!
I'm a little late on commenting here, but I just found your blog. I'm not really trying to lose weight, especially since I'm pregnant now... but I do try to exercise regularly because it makes me feel better about myself in all ways. I don't think I'm much of a source for advice, but I can just say what works for me... I try not to obsess about calories and food, and I just think of it as food, nothing more nothing less. I love reading beauty magazines but whenever they talk about food I turn the page because I think reading that stuff makes people (especially women) become obsessive about food and that's how they develop disorders. I love sweets and sometimes I tend to eat too many of them, but I just try to keep it all as balanced as I can without obsessing. And as for exercise, I just go walking every day. I choose to do that because for me walking is soothing and low impact. I know I could run and burn more calories in a shorter amount of time, but I would dread it like crazy. So I choose to stick with a routine that I enjoy and that way I know I'll keep doing it.
